Snowbird Season

flying south for the winter

If you know anything about New Smyrna Beach, FL in the winter months, then I bet that’s not the picture you expected to see with a title suggesting, “Snowbird Season”.

While this, in fact, is a picture of a “snow-bird”, Wikipedia does provide the most familiar definition of a snowbird:

“ A snowbird is a term often associated with people who move from the higher latitudes and colder climates of the northern USA and Canada and migrate southward in winter to warmer locales such as Florida, California, Hawaii, Arizona, Texas, or elsewhere along the Sun Belt of the southern United States, Mexico, and areas of the Caribbean”.

YES! That’s what I’m talking about! Here at Sea Coast Condominiums, we started welcoming our beloved snowbirds as early as November 2015. We gave them the warmest (literally!) welcome with typical Florida sunshine, warm temps and a lovely Sea Coast canvas tote from the Association Owners.

According to Tripping.com: New Smyrna Beach, FL is on the list of Most Affordable Snowbird Destinations. Our quaint little beach town is ranked #2 on this list of 25 U.S. cities with Warmer Winters and Most Affordable Vacation Rentals. Sea Coast is proud to be the destination of choice for those looking to vacation long-term.

While the sounds of chirping and chatter from the weekly, Saturday morning Coffee Social is winding down in the Clubhouse, the Snowbird Social Calendar is just getting started.

Have you decided to fly south for the winter?
